Dolly Parton always wore her makeup. The beloved country icon passed away earlier this year and is being remembered by her sister, Stella, who was featured on a talk show to talk about her sister's legacy. Through the chat, she shared an intimate side of Dolly that her fans never got to know.

“Not after she got to be ‘Dolly Parton.’ No, she would sleep in her makeup when she would come spend the night with me,” she said. “I wouldn’t! I sleep with a pillow over my head.”
“Oh, I knew what she looked like, of course!” she added. "Because she looked like me without her makeup, so I knew what she looked like without it.”
Stella is one of Dolly's 11 brothers and sisters.

Dolly Parton was famous for many years, known for her dedication to her beauty routines and penchant for high heels and stylish outfits.
In a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, she opened up about her desire to always look her best. “I like to put on a little makeup. I don’t always wear the wigs, but I like to pull my hair up a little bit. Because I never know who’s going to come by or if somebody has to come fix my refrigerator or whatever," she said.

Dolly Parton died in August of this year, after a brief battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. Through the decades, she built a stunning career in music and film, releasing some of the most famous songs in the country genre. She was the recipient of 11 Grammy Awards.
