The couple has been going strong for years

After celebrating on August 14, the actress gave fans a glimpse into her birthday getaway in Los Cabos, Mexico. On Wednesday, Berry shared a gallery of photos and videos of laughing, enjoying the water, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying a lot of good food. She made the sweetest shoutout to her fiancé, writing in the caption that Hunt made it one she will "never forget."

Berry also shared a playful photo of herself covered in sand, along with a series of snapshots showing the couple at dinner. The last slide showed off her engagement ring, which is anything but traditional.

Then on Thursday, she shared a video with more special moments from their trip. "With you, it’s always easy,” she wrote, tagging the musician.

The couple’s latest photos come months after Berry confirmed that they are officially engaged, ending speculation that she had turned down his proposal.

During a February appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Berry addressed reports that she had said no when Hunt asked her to marry him.

“There’s some confusion,” she told Jimmy Fallon. “It’s going around that I, that my guy Van Hunt — I’ve been dating him now for almost six years — well, there’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no.”

Berry made it clear that she did, in fact, say yes. “I did not say no,” she said. “We just don’t have a date, but of course I said yes, I would marry him!” She then showed off her engagement ring, joking, “He did put a little ring on it.”

The confusion came from Hunt himself when he revealed that he proposed in 2025.  During a joint appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends last June, Hunt joked that his proposal was “still on hold” and “just out there floating.”

Berry said that neither of them felt the need to get married to prove the strength of their relationship. The Catwoman star has been married three times in the past, first to former baseball player David Justice, singer Eric Benét, and actor Olivier Martinez.

Still, she made it clear,  “I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married."

Their love story

Halle Berry and Van Hunt found love during the COVID-19 pandemic

The couple first connected during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and have continued to share glimpses of their relationship over the years. Berry has previously described Hunt as “her person,” and the two have also spoken about their blended family.

She shares daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and son Maceo with Martinez, while Hunt has a son from a previous relationship.

While they haven't had an official ceremony, in 2022 Berry revealed that her son, Maceo, then 8, spontaneously held a “commitment ceremony” for the couple in the back seat of a car.

She said her son had begun to see how happy Hunt made her and wanted to celebrate that. “I think he finally sees me happy, and it’s infectious,” Berry told AARP. “It was his way of saying, ‘This is good. I like this. This makes me happy.’”

The moment was emotional for both Berry and Hunt, with the actress recalling, “I teared up; Van was fighting back tears.” She added that even Maceo seemed to understand the significance of the moment.
