Ivanka Trump is back in business mode, and her latest New York City appearance combined two recurring themes in her post-Washington life. A return to the private sector and a wardrobe built around polished, quietly luxurious tailoring.
The 44-year-old was photographed leaving an office building in Manhattan on Wednesday before getting into a waiting black SUV. For the meeting, Ivanka wore a pale mint-green Sandro pantsuit, pairing the double-breasted blazer and coordinating trousers with strappy white heels.
Her blonde hair was styled in loose waves, keeping the look relaxed despite the corporate setting. But one accessory attracted almost as much attention as her outfit. Ivanka was carrying a tote bearing the logo of Backlot, fueling speculation about the purpose of her meeting.
Backlot describes itself as a full-service location management company and agency connecting film and television productions with commercial properties.
The New York-based company works with productions seeking filming locations, offices and other spaces, while helping property owners generate revenue through media use.
While the branded tote has prompted reports that Ivanka met with the company, there has been no public announcement confirming a new role, partnership or project involving her and Backlot.
A familiar look from Ivanka's Washington wardrobe:
The mint-green suit may have looked perfectly suited to her latest meeting, but it was not a new addition to Ivanka's closet.
She has previously been photographed wearing the same Sandro ensemble during her years in Washington, making Wednesday's appearance a notable fashion repeat.
The tailored silhouette, white buttons, and soft pastel hue offer a lighter interpretation of the traditional power suit, while remaining consistent with the structured pieces that became central to her professional wardrobe.
Ivanka has long relied on monochromatic tailoring for business appearances, often favoring clean lines and minimal accessories over trend-driven styling.
Her latest outfit suggests that even as her professional life has changed dramatically, some elements of her workwear formula remain firmly in place.
Ivanka Trump's 'new chapter':
The outing arrives as Ivanka continues to expand her work outside politics after serving as a senior adviser during her father Donald Trump's first presidential administration.
Speaking with entrepreneur and podcaster David Senra in May, Ivanka described herself as being in a different phase of her career and made clear that returning to public service was not part of her plans.
“Now, I'm in a new section of my life,” she said, explaining that she now understands the intensity of government service and the sacrifices it requires from her family. She added that she was “extraordinarily inspired by the ability to impact positive change in the private sector.”
Her current projects span several industries. Ivanka co-founded Planet Harvest with Melissa Ackerman, an initiative focused on creating a market for produce that might otherwise go to waste and connecting more of that food with consumers.
She has also returned to her roots in real estate development through projects with husband Jared Kushner. Ivanka has been closely involved in plans for a luxury development on Albania's Sazan Island, which she described as “the culmination of all of my experience in real estate.”
The ambitious project has also faced significant scrutiny and environmental protests in Albania over development planned for ecologically sensitive areas.
Her Manhattan outing therefore comes at an interesting moment. Whether the Backlot connection develops into another business venture remains to be seen, but the appearance underscored the direction Ivanka has repeatedly outlined for herself. Private enterprise, real estate, and entrepreneurship, with a familiar power suit accompanying her into the next chapter.
