Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have reportedly secured entry to a Miami social circle that has kept even some of their wealthiest neighbors waiting.
According to Page Six, the couple has been accepted into Indian Creek Country Club. “The Kushners did get in,” an unnamed source told the outlet, adding that a “notice to membership” would be going out. The same report says Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos have yet to secure membership.
The development follows the August coverage of the unusually slow admission process facing famous residents of Indian Creek Island. At the time, Ivanka and Jared were reportedly moving closer to acceptance, while Bezos and Sánchez were still getting acquainted with the club’s members.
Owning property in the neighborhood did not automatically open the doors to its private social scene.
For Bezos and Sánchez, the waiting game has unfolded despite a considerable investment in the island. The Amazon founder acquired three properties for approximately $234 million combined, according to public records cited by The Wall Street Journal.
The newspaper also reported that the couple attended the club’s annual dock party in February, where Bezos mingled with members while hoping to gain admission.
It is easy to see the appeal. The Journal describes a private golf course, a Mediterranean villa-style clubhouse and a swimming pool overlooking the Miami skyline. But the amenities are only part of the attraction.
Acceptance also means becoming part of a closely guarded community whose longtime members can have roots stretching back generations.
Earlier reporting suggested that Bezos and Sánchez’s chances were still promising.
In August, a source told Page Six that the couple would likely be accepted eventually, provided they spent time getting to know the community.
“People need to know them,” the source explained. The outlet described a process in which participation and personal connections mattered, even for applicants accustomed to access almost everywhere else.
That distinction was central to the earlier reports. Indian Creek’s celebrated privacy may attract famous homeowners, but a home purchase and a country club membership are separate milestones.
For Ivanka and Jared, the latest report suggests that the second milestone has finally arrived. For their equally recognizable neighbors, the wait reportedly continues.
