Kaia Gerber is opening up about an unusual chapter from her childhood — and claims she was once believed to be possessed.

The 24-year-old model and actress made the startling revelation during an appearance on The Mitch Churi Chat Show on Friday, where she discussed her longtime fascination with paranormal experiences.

Gerber said she has felt “haunted” for much of her life and claimed she has a strange ability to attract what she described as “beings from other dimensions.”

While the story may sound like something straight out of one of her horror projects, Gerber insisted that at least one particularly bizarre experience actually happened to her.

Her Mom Gave Her Holy Water Before American Horror Story

Gerber recalled that her famous mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, was concerned about her safety while she was working on American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021.

According to Gerber, Crawford gave her holy water to take with her to set because she was worried the actress could become possessed.

“She was like, ‘I don’t want you to get possessed,’” Gerber recalled.

The model then explained that her mother’s concern stemmed from something she had apparently been told about Gerber when she was younger.

“I was told I was possessed as a child,” she said.

Gerber added that attracting supernatural entities has seemingly been a recurring theme throughout her life.

“I attract beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way,” she said.

Gerber Claims She Had an Exorcism

The conversation took an even stranger turn when Gerber revealed that she allegedly underwent an exorcism as a child.

When asked what the ritual involved, she gave an unexpected answer.

“Do you know how they did the exorcism? They played a didgeridoo all over me!” Gerber said.

She repeated that the experience was not something she had simply made up for a funny story.

“That actually did happen,” she insisted. “I’ve never talked about it, but it actually did happen. I’m all healed.”

A didgeridoo is a traditional wind instrument associated with Indigenous Australian music.

Gerber did not provide additional details about when the alleged exorcism took place or who performed it.

Her Horror Career Makes the Story Even More Fitting

Gerber's paranormal claims are particularly intriguing given her acting history.

The daughter of Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber appeared in the 10th season of American Horror Story, titled Double Feature, which premiered in 2021. She also appeared in the American Horror Stories spinoff that same year.

Her latest acting project is another Ryan Murphy production, FX’s The Shards, which Murphy co-created with author Bret Easton Ellis.

The series is based on Ellis’ autofiction horror novel and features a cast that includes Richard Gere’s son Homer Gere, Igby Rigney, and Hayes Warner.

The thriller is set in Los Angeles in 1981 and follows a group of wealthy high school students as a serial killer begins targeting people throughout the city. The story combines elements of teen coming-of-age drama, erotic thriller and horror.

Gerber Has Also Been Candid About Body Image

The paranormal confession comes as Gerber has become increasingly open about more personal experiences, including her struggles with body image and disordered eating.

In a recent interview with Vogue, Gerber discussed the intense scrutiny she has faced throughout her career and the constant comparisons to her mother.

She explained that harsh comments about her appearance have not helped her overcome her struggles.

“People are like: ‘You look terrible,’” Gerber said, explaining that such criticism certainly doesn’t encourage someone to recover from a mental health struggle.

“Negativity has never saved someone’s life,” she added.

Gerber also addressed the current fashion industry's renewed focus on extremely thin bodies and how that environment has affected her.

“We’re clearly in one of those cycles right now where people are very, very, very thin,” she said.
