Kylie Jenner is marking another trip around the sun with plenty of pink, playful details and a star-studded guest list.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder celebrated ahead of her 29th birthday with an elaborate “Princess Kitty”-themed party at her Beverly Hills home on Saturday, Aug. 8. The celebration came just over three weeks after the Kardashian-Jenner family announced the death of beloved matriarch Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, Kris Jenner’s mother and Kylie’s grandmother.

Kylie went all-in on the “Princess Kitty” theme for her pre-birthday celebration.
The reality star wore a bright pink latex halter minidress paired with a pink feather boa, crown and matching accessories. Her look included pink nails and fluffy Gucci sandals.

Kylie’s sisters Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner were among the family members photographed at the celebration. Friends Hailey Bieber, Devon Lee Carlson and Victoria Villarroel were also among those joining the birthday festivities.
Justin Bieber was also reportedly among the guests, while Kylie’s boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, was not seen in the photos circulating from the party. It remains unclear whether the actor attended.
Kylie Jenner’s Birthday Cakes Matched the Kitty Theme
No Kardashian-Jenner birthday party would be complete without over-the-top desserts, and Kylie’s celebration delivered several.
The party featured three distinctive cakes, including a colorful gemstone-covered creation and another decorated with cartoon cats and a birthday message for “Kitty Kylie.” One of the more playful desserts was designed to resemble Kylie in a pink swimsuit.

The Celebration Comes Weeks After Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon’s Death
Kylie’s birthday arrives during an emotional period for the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Kris Jenner announced on July 16 that her mother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, had died at age 91. In her tribute, Kris described her mother as the “heart of our family” and reflected on the lessons she passed down about family, unconditional love and appreciating time together.
MJ had been a familiar presence to longtime Kardashian fans. She appeared on both “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and “The Kardashians” over the years and shared close relationships with her grandchildren.

Kim Kardashian remembered MJ as her best friend, confidante and an important influence on her career. Kim credited her grandmother with giving her an early job at her San Diego store and helping teach her about work ethic and confidence.

Against that backdrop, Kylie’s Princess Kitty party appeared to offer an opportunity for family and friends to gather for a happier milestone.
The timing does not necessarily suggest the family has moved on from its loss. Kris’ original tribute to MJ specifically emphasized family traditions and the importance of continuing to find joy in moments together, themes that have long been central to the Kardashian-Jenner family’s public celebrations.
