Cardi B is clearing up speculation about her body after fans questioned whether she recently had her butt injections dissolved. During a candid Instagram Live, the Grammy-winning rapper addressed ongoing conversations about her appearance, revealing that she already underwent a buttocks reduction procedure in January 2024 and has no plans to have additional surgery anytime soon.
The "I Like It" hitmaker, who has long been open about her cosmetic procedures, reminded fans that she's never hidden her plastic surgery journey. "A lot of y'all keep telling me to go get my a** reduced," Cardi said during the livestream. "I don't need to go get my a** reduced, news flash, I did get my a** reduced."
Cardi B Says She Already Reduced Her Butt Injections
Cardi, 33, explained that while many people assume she recently changed her appearance, the procedure actually happened more than two years ago. According to the rapper, she had the silicone-based biopolymer injections she received in her early 20s "reduced" rather than completely removed.
She also explained why another reduction isn't as simple as getting liposuction. "I can't just go and lipo my butt because my skin is like kinda loose," she said. "That's why my a** shakes so much."
Why Cardi B Isn't Getting More Surgery
The rapper said liposuction alone could create unwanted results because of loose skin left behind after previous procedures. "So if I just go and get a lipo reduction, that is the easy way, my a** could drop," Cardi explained. "So I would have to cut myself. And I'm not cutting myself. I'm not sitting down for four months."
Instead, she's satisfied with the way she looks today. "I'm outside, like I said," she continued. "I like my body how it looks right now. I'm comfortable in my skin."
Cardi also emphasized that she has always been transparent about cosmetic enhancements. "I'm very, very honest," she said. "First of all, I got two lipos and one a** reduction."
Cardi B Previously Revealed Her History With Biopolymer Injections
Cardi has spoken openly over the years about receiving illegal biopolymer butt injections when she was just 21 years old before becoming a global superstar.
The injections, which are made from silicone-based fillers that are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have been linked to serious health risks, including migration, infection, chronic pain and inflammation. Cardi has previously shared that she later underwent procedures to remove a significant amount of the material after experiencing concerns.
Her latest comments clarify that while she previously reduced the effects of those injections, she isn't planning another procedure simply because of online criticism.
Cardi B Says Her Petite Frame Influenced Her Decision
The rapper explained that part of the reason she opted for the reduction was that her body frame naturally doesn't support a larger figure. "First thing first, I am a small girl," she said. "I'm a very small, petite girl. My mom is petite. My sister's petite. My aunts are small."
She added that fans have seen her body for years and questioned why the discussion continues. "Y'all acting like y'all new to this," Cardi said. "Y'all been seeing my body for how many years now? Too many."
Cardi B Credits Diet Along With Surgery
While acknowledging her past cosmetic procedures, Cardi pushed back against claims that every change in her appearance comes from surgery. She told viewers she maintains her figure by eating grilled chicken and grilled salmon, drinking fiber-rich beverages and avoiding crash dieting.
"Oh, 'You look super super snatched.' Yes, bitch, just stop hating," she said. "I'll tell you what I do so I could look snatched." Cardi also encouraged fans not to starve themselves in pursuit of weight loss. "That's what I do. I'm being as honest as possible," she added. "[Anytime] someone's talking about oh, I look good, y'all say I'm doing surgery."
She ended the discussion with a direct message to critics. "So shut the f--- up; it just gives straight hater," Cardi said. "Hating a** bitches. Enjoy your life. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your everything."
Cardi Previously Planned to Remove More After Tour
Cardi's latest comments come months after she joked about removing more of her butt enhancements following her tour.
In a backstage video shared in February, singer Kehlani complimented Cardi's figure before the rapper revealed her future plans. "After this tour, I'm taking some out," Cardi said while laughing. "After this tour, I don't wanna hear nobody for three months. I'm going to Colombia; nobody hit me up, nothing. I'm taking this ass out!"
Her recent Instagram Live, however, makes it clear that despite ongoing rumors, she already underwent a reduction in 2024 and currently has no interest in another lengthy recovery.
