Lizzo is opening up about the ups and downs of her health journey. After reaching her weight-loss goal in 2025 following a more than 60-pound transformation, the "About Damn Time" singer revealed that she's since regained several pounds and reflected on the challenges of maintaining those changes.

In an interview with The Guardian, Lizzo said, "I've gained 20 pounds since last year, so everyone can ask me about weight gain, too, if they'd like."

'There are a lot of reasons'

The Juice singer also addresses speculation that she had lost weight due to depression, explaining that she shed the pounds for the sake of her mental and physical health.

Lizzo, 38, said, "There are a lot of reasons. People always want to make it one single headline, one single thing. A lot of things can be true at once. I was in a place where my physical weight was causing joint pain and aches."

Adding, "I also got to the point where I came off the internet, and all I had was the studio and my thoughts. So I poured myself into the things I could control. My body, my lifestyle. My routines and habits."

Ozempic Denial

Lizzo previously denied rumours that Ozempic had contributed to her drastic weight loss and simply said it was down to changes she had made to her diet.

She said on the Just Trish podcast last year: "I tried everything. It's just the science for me. Calories in versus calories out. "Ozempic works because you eat less food. It makes you feel full. So if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same."

Anxiety Struggles

Lizzo admitted in an interview last month that she has harboured insecurities for most of her life, as she thought she was "very annoying" as a child.

The Good as Hell singer, who is also an accomplished flautist, told the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "I grew up feeling very annoying. It was a huge insecurity of mine. I'm the baby in the family, and I played probably the most annoying instrument to be bad at. Hearing someone be bad at the flute is a nightmare. And I was bad for at least two years."
