Lizzo Opens Up About Her 60-Pound Weight Loss

Lizzo's latest red carpet appearance also comes after she has openly shared details about her 60-pound weight loss journey with fans.

Over the past year, the singer has documented her fitness routine, healthier lifestyle choices, and commitment to improving her overall well-being. She has consistently emphasized that her journey has focused on feeling stronger and healthier rather than meeting outside expectations.

The "Good as Hell" singer shared in a November 2025 post on Substack, her views on "Why is everybody losing weight and what do we do? Sincerely, a person who’s lost weight".

"I had to actively work against ‘mammy’ tropes by being hypersexual and vulgar because being a mammy by definition is being desexualized." Lizzo added, "And that’s the reality that nobody wants to talk about. We’re in an era where the bigger girls are getting smaller because they’re tired of being judged."

But, ultimately, Lizzo, real name Melissa Jefferson, is "still a proud big girl." She wrote, "So here we are halfway through the decade, where extended sizes are being magically erased from websites. Plus-sized models are no longer getting booked for modeling gigs. And all of our big girls are not-so-big anymore." She added, "I am still a proud big girl. Objectively Big. Over 200 pounds. And I love myself as much as I’ve loved myself, no matter what the scale says."
