Shakira was a part of another World Cup final. The Colombian singer and World Cup icon was a part of FIFA's first halftime show, performing alongside Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, Gustavo Dudamel, and more. She was also watching the match, seeing Spain become world champions for the second time in her life.

A photo is bringing back a lot of flashbacks to the 2010 World Cup, when Spain became world champions for the first time, when Gerard Piqué was a part of that roster of players.

Memorably, Piqué walked out of that World Cup as a world champion and with a relationship to one of the world's leading singers.

Shakira and Ferran Torres, the game's Man of the Match, posed for some photos, with him holding on to his trophy and Shakira smiling alongside him. The images were taken after Shakira handed him the award, prompting a lot of online commentary and comparisons to some of her photos with Piqué.

While Shakira and Piqué weren't on the field during his World Cup win, she supported him in numerous important matches, including the Copa del Rey tournament, which Piqué won with Barcelona in 2015.

Photos of the two on the field showed them holding on to each other, posing with the cup after Barcelona emerged victorious.

Shakira and Gerard Piqué were together for over a decade, becoming one of the most famous athlete-artist pairings in the world. The two first met in 2010, on the set of the "Waka Waka" music video, with him being one of the players who was featured in the clip.

"I wasn't a soccer fan, so I didn't know who he was," said Shakira in a 2020 interview with 60 Minutes. "When I saw the video, I was like, 'Hmm, that one's kind of cute. 'And then someone decided to introduce us.'"

Piqué has shared the story from his perspective, revealing that he first started the relationship. "It all started when we were together in South Africa, and I wrote to her," he said to Spain's TV3. "She was already there because she sang in the opening ceremony, and I asked her what the weather was like. She started telling me what the weather was, like, every minute, and it got to the point where I told her we [the Spanish team] would have to get to the World Cup final to see her again — she was singing at the final."
