Reese Witherspoon brought a special date to an important premiere. This week, Witherspoon attended the premiere of "Elle," the prequel to "Legally Blonde," one of the most important films in Witherspoon's career. She was accompanied by her handsome 22-year-old son, Deacon.
Reese and Deacon were photographed together at the New York premiere of the film, wearing different shades of pink. Witherspoon wore a lacy and flowery hot pink gown, a tribute to her beloved character, Elle Woods.
In the case of Deacon, he looked incredibly similar to his father, Ryan Phillippe, in a black suit, with a white button-up and a pink tie. He completed the look with Aviator sunglasses and his blonde hair slicked back.
The images from the premiere are a great throwback to Witherspoon's red-carpet look at the premiere of "Legally Blonde," where she was accompanied by her then-husband, Philippe. Deacon's outfit was in direct conversation with his dad's, who also opted for a suit, a pink tie, and some aviator sunglasses.
Reese and Ryan share two kids, Ava, 26, and Deacon. The pair divorced in 2006, after six years of marriage. Witherspoon then married Jim Toth in 2011, with the two divorcing in 2023. They share one son, Tennessee.
Deacon's desire to be an artist like his parents
Deacon is the son of two very famous parents. Like them, he has an interest in the arts, pursuing acting and also a music career. In 2023, he released his first album, titled "A New Earth."
He discussed the album on an Instagram post. "All I can say is that it came from pure love, for what I do and for the people that listen," he wrote. "This is a story of my life, our lives, and of love and life in general; it carries thoughts and emotions that I've accumulated, felt, observed, bottled up, and dealt with through the last 19 years of my life. This project was created in my dorm, made by three college kids with big dreams and bigger hearts."
Over the past years, Deacon has also been acting, having his TV debut on the Netflix series "Never Have I Ever." He's appeared in numerous music videos and in the film "4 Kids Walk Into a Bank." He has an upcoming film coming out titled "Brother Save Us."
His dad has spoken about how proud he is to see his son following his own path in the arts. "I am so proud," said Ryan in 2022. "He's about to go to college for music. That's his primary focus. The acting thing he likes to do, and he will do according to what his appetite for it is, but his focus is primarily music."
