Vanessa Trump has revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The former wife of Donald Trump Jr. took to social media to announce she is currently working with doctors on a treatment plan after undergoing a medical procedure earlier this week.
“While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” Trump wrote on Instagram. She also asked for privacy while focusing on her recovery and spending time with loved ones. “I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me. Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express,” she added.
Vanessa Trump, 48, was married to Donald Trump Jr. for 12 years before the pair divorced in 2018. The former couple shares five children, including their eldest daughter, Kai Trump, who has built a major social media following and frequently appears alongside her grandfather, President Donald Trump, at public events and at the White House.
The news quickly prompted an outpouring of support from family members and followers online. Ivanka Trump publicly commented on Vanessa’s post with a heartfelt message. “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you, mama,” Ivanka wrote.
Kai shared a photo of the pair on her IG Stories, saying: “Strongest person I know. Love you.”
The announcement also comes just days after Kai honored her mom on Instagram for Mother’s Day. “Happy Mother’s Day to the best Mom I could ever ask for. I’m so thankful and lucky to have you in my life. Thank you for always supporting me and loving your 5 kids. You are such an amazing Mom, and we are all so lucky to have you. I appreciate you more than anything ❤️,” the high school graduate wrote.
A few months ago, Vanessa Trump’s relationship with golf superstar Tiger Woods became public. Woods confirmed the couple’s relationship in March.
Vanessa Trump has largely kept her personal life private in recent years, focusing on raising her children and staying out of the political spotlight following her divorce from Donald Trump Jr.
Per CNN, breast cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among women in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, early detection and advances in treatment have continued to improve survival rates significantly in recent years.
