Mariah Carey’s presence remains unmatched, and during her appearance at the Gucci Cruise 2027 presentation in New York City, the glamorous singer instantly became one of the defining names of the night.
At 57, the music icon demonstrated that her influence continues to transcend generations, as guests appeared visibly captivated as cameras followed her every move throughout the evening.
The Gucci Cruise 2027 welcomed celebrities from different eras and industries seated side by side, but Carey naturally emerged as one of the evening’s most discussed figures. Her look embraced timeless glamour with a refined black-and-white palette as she wore a long, structured coat layered over a black silk blouse and wide-leg satin trousers.
The singer didn’t rely on dramatic accessories; she kept the styling minimal, allowing the tailoring and textures to speak for themselves.
Shawn Mendes was Mesmerized
Among the attendees drawing attention alongside Carey was singer Shawn Mendes. The 27-year-old arrived wearing a metallic gray tailored suit with a satin finish, styled without a shirt underneath for a relaxed interpretation of formal luxury dressing.
Photos and videos circulating online captured Mendes and Carey posing together during the event’s photo sessions.
One clip in particular quickly gained traction after showing the pair sharing a brief hug. In the same footage, Mendes appeared visibly impressed by Carey’s striking appearance.
A Living Legend
Is not everyone who can sit next to the Queen of Pop, and while everyone, including Shawn, knows how impactful she is in the industry, she refuses to call herself a “legend.”
In a January Billboard interview, the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” chart-topper addressed the label ahead of being honored as MusiCares’ 2026 Person of the Year 2026. Speaking with Billboard, she said, “Everybody has their own little meanings for what things they say. But I don't call myself a legend. I'm just still working, still trying hard.”
She noted, “I’ve always worked really hard, because I knew [from the start] that I wanted to be here for a long time. The one lesson I’ve learned is to just be true to yourself. And I was fortunate enough to be able to do that. There were some things along the way that weren’t ideal, you know, but here I am.”
