Eiza González took to social media to share the devastating news of the passing of her longtime dog, Pasita. The Mexican actress shared an emotional tribute, recalling special moments they experienced together for nearly 24 years.
The actress shed light on the overwhelming pain of saying goodbye, while releasing a touching video from Pasita’s last day. “It breaks my heart to say that my cuddle princess has crossed over the rainbow bridge,” González wrote. “This video was our last day together, and watching her take her final little breaths was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to endure.”
The actress explained that Pasita had been by her side since childhood. While many people pointed out how lucky she was to have had her dog for such a long time, González said that perspective only made her feel even more pain. “For almost 24 years, it was always you and me,” she continued. “People try to comfort me by saying I had you for such a long time, but what they don’t understand is that I’m mourning every single one of those years, days, minutes, and moments we shared. You’ve been with me since I was a child.”
González reflected on the way Pasita witnessed nearly every chapter of her life, from adolescence to adulthood. “Anyone who has ever truly loved a pet knows this kind of bond,” she shared. “You were there through my teenage years, through becoming a woman, through every high and every low, through every place life took me. No matter where I went, it was always us.”
The emotional tribute quickly resonated with fans and fellow celebrities, as they filled the comments section with messages of support and condolences. “Heartbroken for you. How special to have had the gift of a soul pup 💔💔 So precious,” a person wrote.
“Oh Eiza she was and is so loved!!,” Rachel Zegler wrote, while Sofia Vergara added: “Thinking of you.”
“Wrapping you in so much love angel - our babies are not pets, they are our soul mates. I feel the grief and love deeply with you. Love you ❤️,” Julianne Hough wrote.
González also shared the small details she knows she will miss most. “Pasita, I love you more than words could ever explain. I don’t think I’ll ever stop crying when I think of you,” she wrote. “I’ll miss our endless cuddles, your sweet little one eye looking at me with so much love, and the comfort of simply having you beside me.”
She ended the tribute with a heartfelt message in Spanish before imagining Pasita finally at peace. “Mi princesita, te amo y te extrañaré toda mi vida,” González added. “Run free in heaven, my baby girl — chasing squirrels, sunbathing, and waiting for me someday.”
For González, Pasita was clearly more than a pet. She was a source of comfort and an important presence through decades of memories.
Rest in peace, Pasita.
