Actress, entrepreneur, television personality, and proud mom Adrienne Bailon-Houghton is celebrating another year as a mom while embracing her best role yet with gratitude, humor, and plenty of creamy lattes. The multi-hyphenate star partnered with NIDO, America’s #1 instant milk brand, for a special Mother’s Day brunch focused on celebrating moms and encouraging women to take time for themselves. During her conversation with HOLA!, Bailon-Houghton opened up about family traditions, raising her son Ever, faith, friendship, and even a possible fashion collaboration inspired by moms on the go.
The brunch centered around self-care for moms, something Bailon-Houghton says is often overlooked. “We're having this brunch today to remind us that as moms, we need to pour into ourselves as well,” she explained. “I love the fact that we're always giving to our children, but we also need to take a moment to pause and really love on ourselves.”
“I grew up with the brand, so if you're Latino, you know what's up? You know that it has been a part of our families and a part of our lives for years,” she shared excitedly. For Bailon-Houghton, the partnership felt deeply personal. The former Cheetah Girls star revealed that introducing the milk brand into her own son’s life felt like continuing a cherished family tradition. “I love the fact that I not only get to use it for him, but also for myself, which is what we are celebrating today, Mother's Day,” she shared with our publication.
The actress even revealed that her Ecuadorian family inspired her to experiment with the instant milk brand in coffee and recipes long before social media caught onto the trend. “My familia in Ecuador, they were doing it way before,” she said. “They used it for their cereal, milk and so much more.”
At home, it has become part of her son Ever’s daily routine too. “We use it in our avena (oatmeal) for my son,” she said. “Literally in the morning, he's like, ‘Yo quiero sopita de avena.’ I'm like, ‘I got you.’”
Mother’s Day with the Bailon-Houghtons
Mother’s Day in the Bailon-Houghton household is also a full family affair. The star shared that her annual celebration has evolved into a luxurious pajama spa brunch hosted at home. “Every Mother's Day I get to host,” she said. “It's a pajama spa brunch, me and my sister, and my mom, my Titi, and two of our other aunts, they all come together, and we all have matching pajamas on.”
And while the women relax, the men step in to handle brunch duties. “The men put together like an amazing brunch for us,” she added. “And then I have a masseuse come to the house, and we get massages.”
Bailon-Houghton also couldn’t help brainstorming a future collaboration between her fashion brand, LA VOÛTE by Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, and NIDO, imagining a chic mom-friendly tote designed specifically for busy parents. “Can we get a bag with a spot for my latte and his sipping cup?” she joked. “That would be genius.”
Beyond motherhood and business, faith remains at the center of her family life. The star became emotional while discussing the lessons she hopes to pass on to her son. “The greatest thing that I feel my mom gave me was the ability to pray,” she shared. “Every morning we wake up and the first thing we do is we thank God for a brand new day.”
She continued, “Just giving my son a reminder that having an attitude of gratitude is the greatest thing that will get you through life.”
Bailon-Houghton also spoke candidly about how motherhood has changed her friendships and daily priorities. “My son is my number one priority,” she explained. “I think having a village is so important.”
The actress says she appreciates friends who understand her new reality as a mom and are happy to spend time with both her and Ever James. “I also set up play dates with my kid and my friends,” she joked. “I'm like, do you want to hang out with my kid? What a cool opportunity for you.”
Fans of the singer may also have new music to look forward to soon. After collaborating musically with husband Israel Houghton on their “Coritos” project, Bailon-Houghton revealed she has rediscovered her passion for music. “I am going to be working on a solo project,” she confirmed to HOLA! “And I would love, love, love, nothing more than writing a song for my son.”
As Mother’s Day approaches, the actress ended with an uplifting message dedicated to every kind of mom. “Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there,” she said. “Whether you're a mom who is hoping to become a mom, whether you are somebody who is a mom, whether you are a step mom, to the “step” is a silent kind of Mom, if you are a mom who's grieving your mom or missing your mom, to all the moms out there and everybody who loves their mom.”
