In Venice, Italy, Zoe Saldaña and Salma Hayek turned a simple evening into a striking fashion moment, stepping out on a double date with their husbands and instantly commanding attention for both their coordinated presence and sharply contrasting styles.
The group gathered during the pre-opening period of the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Their dinner took place at the Fondazione Cini on Isola Di San Giorgio, placing them at the center of one of the most exclusive cultural settings in Venice that evening.
The outing brought together Saldaña with Marco Perego-Saldaña, and Hayek with François-Henri Pinault, reinforcing a friendship that has unfolded publicly for years.
What stood out most was how intentionally different, yet visually balanced, the couples appeared as a unit.
Salma Hayek leaned into classic evening glamour. At 59, she wore a black one-shoulder gown with a subtle shimmer that caught the light without overpowering the silhouette. A delicate side slit added movement, while black platform heels extended the look into a more dramatic finish. Her hair, worn in loose waves with natural gray tones visible, softened the overall effect and gave the outfit a lived-in elegance rather than something overly styled.
Zoe Saldaña, 47, took the opposite direction with a modern, tailored approach. She arrived in an oversized white suit that played with proportion and structure. Beneath the jacket, a lace bra added a subtle contrast between softness and precision. Nude strappy heels and a caramel-toned clutch kept the palette clean and understated. Her styling stayed minimal, allowing the silhouette of the suit to lead the look.
Their husbands echoed the same contrast in tone. Marco Perego-Saldaña opted for an all-black ensemble with a leather jacket, tailored pants, and boots, adding hoop earrings and gold jewelry that gave the outfit an artistic edge. François-Henri Pinault maintained a more traditional presence in a classic dark suit, keeping his look formal and restrained beside the more expressive styling of the group.
The four created a visual rhythm that felt coordinated without being uniform, with black and white dominating the palette and reinforcing the duality between the two leading women’s fashion choices.
This Venice dinner was not their first public appearance together. The two couples have shared social moments for years, including a well-known appearance at the Gucci cruise show in Rome in 2019, where they were photographed side by side.
Venice itself also adds a personal layer for Hayek and Pinault, who were married there in April 2009, making the city a recurring backdrop in their shared history.
The double date highlighted more than friendship, showcasing their personal style and long-term familiarity, as the two couples have learned to move seamlessly between private relationships and highly visible public moments.
