King Charles and Queen Camilla are on their state visit to the US. On Tuesday night, following various events that celebrated the 250-year history of the US and its friendly relationship with the UK, the King and Queen joined President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania in a state dinner. There, in the first white-tie dinner in the White House since 2007, they were joined by numerous notorious American figures, among them, Lauren Sanchez-Bezos and Jeff Bezos.

Lauren Sanchez Bezos shared photos of her look on social media, sticking to the dress code in an off-the-shoulder black gown that she paired with a stunning emerald necklace.

Designed by Lorraine Schwartz, the necklace features 200 carats of Colombian emeralds. Sanchez-Bezos has worn the necklace in the past, debuting it at last year's Vanity Fair Oscars Party, on that instance, pairing it with a white Oscar de la Renta gown.

Sanchez-Bezos completed the look with her hair held up in an elegant high bun and some earrings, allowing most of the attention to remain with her necklace.

Jeff Bezos was one of the guests at the state dinner, which included other prominent tech figures like Apple CEO Tim Cook, NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang, Google President Ruth Porat, and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. According to CNN, some of the tech leaders talked with the King about UK tech investments and trending topics in their industry, like AI guardrails.

According to CNN, Trump was very involved in the dinner, having a hand in the guest list and the menu selection, issues that are normally handled by the office of the first lady.

The dinner followed King Charles' address to both houses of Congress, making him the second British monarch to do so, following his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who addressed Congress in 1991.

“When I address my own parliament at Westminster, we still follow an age-old tradition and take a member of parliament hostage, holding him or her at Buckingham Palace until I am safely returned,” Charles said in his speech. “These days we look after our guests rather well, to the point that they often do not want to leave. I don’t know, Mr. Speaker, if there were any volunteers for that role here today," he said, prompting laughs from the room.

Upon their arrival at the dinner, Trump called attention to Charles' speech. “He made a great speech. I was very jealous," he said to reporters.
