While headlines swirl around Tiger Woods’ latest crash and DUI arrest, someone from his past is making one thing very clear - she wants no part in the narrative.

On Sunday, his ex, Kristin Smith, took to Instagram with a firm boundary. “Regarding recent events and my past, I have moved forward, and being dragged back into these moments and untrue narratives is triggering,” she wrote, making it clear she’s already moved on.

As for why she felt the need to speak, she explained, “Beyond that, after traumatic unrelated incidents over the last couple of years, I don’t handle being unexpectedly approached or confronted well, and it can be deeply unsettling for me."

Smith shares 18-year-old son Isaiah, with retired NFL star Gerald Sensabaugh, and she put her family first, pointing to the mental strain the situation has caused, "Anxiety and fear of my family and me being contacted, watched, or followed, in hopes of provoking a reaction about something that not involved me for a very long time simply does not get easier," she wrote.

Why is she getting dragged into it?

Woods is no stranger to car accidents, and one happened when they were together. The two dated in 2016, splitting before his 2017 DUI arrest, when he was found asleep behind the wheel with multiple prescription drugs in his system, and later pleaded guilty to reckless driving.

At the time, Woods publicly confirmed, “Kristin Smith and I are no longer dating,” distancing the relationship from the fallout that followed.

Which is why the stylist is speaking up. Her statement on Instagram continued, "I have taken the time to process my personal experiences and am grateful for moments that have shaped me. I hope people will remember that the person they have celebrated and been entertained by is, above all, a human being, and deserving of decency too, just like anyone else."

She went on to ask for privacy. "I respectfully ask that my family and I be treated with dignity and privacy now and as this process plays out," she wrote. "For nearly ten years, I have chosen silence around this situation. That decision wasn’t always easy. Finally, not abandoning myself feels cathartic. Moving on."

On Friday, Woods was involved in a rollover crash near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida, with authorities confirming he was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m.

Officials say there were no serious injuries, and Woods reportedly complied with a breathalyzer but refused a urine test. The investigation is ongoing. Woods, who is currently linked to Vanessa Trump, hasn’t publicly addressed the crash yet.

It marks a series of accidents over the last 17 years. The most infamous crash came in 2009, when he was involved in a crash that blew open his personal life and shifted his public image overnight after reports of infidelity surfaced. His then-wife, Elin Nordegren, famously used a golf club to smash the windows of the Tigers' SUV after he drove over a fire hydrant and into a tree.

Then there was 2021, when he survived a near-fatal rollover crash in California that left him with severe leg injuries. At the time, he said he was "lucky to be alive."
