Pax Jolie Pitt made a surprise appearance at one of the year's biggest film festivals. The 22-year-old son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt attended the Sundance Film Festival, one of the most famous festivals and celebrity events in the country.
Pax attended Sundance in support of the film "Self-Custody." In photos shared online, Pax attended a party for the film and took photos alongside the film's director, Garrett Patten, and producer, Fernando Ferro.
In the images, he's seen looking straight at the camera as he stands next to Patten and Ferro, wearing a red and blue flannel jacket that's appropriate for the icy Utah weather. Pax completed the look with a black t-shirt and a silver necklace.
"Self-Custody" is a short and a thriller, starring Henry Cejudo, Adrian Grenier, and Adley Pearl Jones. This marks the last year when the festival will be hosted in its home of Utah, with it moving to Boulder, Colorado.
Pax's appearance at the festival came as a surprise, with him generally steering clear of the media and the public eye. Still, it prompted many to wonder about Pax's career and whether or not he's following in his parents' footsteps.
While it's unknown if Pax is connected to "Self-Custody," he appears to have an interest in the behind-the-scenes process of filmmaking, serving as a still photographer for Jolie's film "First They Killed My Father," which she directed in 2017.
He also voiced the character of Yoo in "Kung Fu Panda 3" and had a cameo in the film "Maleficent." According to E! News, Pax appears to be working in film production.
Pax's siblings and their interest in the arts
In past years, Angelina Jolie has spoken about her kids and how they're uninterested in pursuing acting or jobs that open their lives to the public. “They really don't like any of the celebrity part of it,” she said at the Santa Barbara Film Festival last year, as reported to PEOPLE.
It seems like they're interested in the arts, with Maddox having several production roles under his belt, and Vivienne working alongside her mother on the Broadway play "The Outsiders." She memorably accompanied her mom to the Tony Awards, with the two wearing matching outfits.
"Viv reminds me of my mother," said Jolie to E! News in 2023. "She isn't focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives."
