With a community of over 10.2 million followers on Instagram alone, Ángela Aguilar used the platform to share the first video of her Libre Corazón tour, which kicked off on October 24 at the Ritz Theatre in Newark, New Jersey. As a thank-you to her most loyal fans, the daughter of Pepe Aguilar posted this video reflecting on the new professional chapter she’s entering, one where she’s been able to reconnect with her “little angels,” the affectionate nickname she gives her fandom, who have stood by her unconditionally.

While showing some of the most emotional moments from her first show, Ángela touched on how her career has been impacted by the media frenzy surrounding her romantic decisions: “The more time passed, the more I forgot what I once was,” she can be heard saying in the post.

In the clip, Ángela admitted that the controversy had indeed affected her work: “My safe place became a battlefield, and giving up seemed like my only option. Today I offer you my song, even if you don’t like who I am,” she says in the video, defending her art.

The singer also included a scene filmed by the sea. Thanks to the white dress she wears, it’s clear that the footage was taken during her recent birthday celebration. To mark her 22nd birthday, Ángela organized a special gathering surrounded by her family, friends, and her husband, Christian Nodal.

Ángela launched her tour shortly after receiving a major award for her work as a songwriter. Just days ago, she stole the spotlight at the ceremony where she was honored with the La Musa Elena Award, presented by the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame for her contribution to regional Mexican music.

During her acceptance speech, the singer spoke candidly about how online hate has affected her: “I accept this recognition with a heart full of gratitude. I feel like so often we’re told to do things even when we’re afraid — to do them despite the fear. And being here right now, at this point in my life, in a room full of people, honestly, it scares me a lot,” she said at the microphone.
