Kim Kardashian shows her rarely seen tattoo to Jimmy Fallon

The placement is so discreet that even she sometimes forgets it’s there

Kim Kardashian has long been known for her no-tattoo stance. In fact, she once famously quipped, “You should never put a bumper sticker on a Bentley,” when asked about getting inked. But on the September 24 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," she surprised fans by revealing the hidden exception to her rule.

During her chat with Jimmy Fallon, Kim pulled down her bottom lip to show off a tiny infinity symbol tattoo tucked inside her mouth. The placement is so discreet that even she sometimes forgets it’s there. “It’s so funny, because sometimes I’ll be flossing and then I’ll see something dark in my mouth, and I’ll be like, ‘Oh, my God! What is that?! I’m gonna die,’” she joked.

The Story Behind the Ink

Kim explained that the tattoo wasn’t a solo decision but part of a group bonding moment. After hosting Saturday Night Live in October 2021—a milestone moment in her career—she and her friends decided to commemorate the night with matching tattoos.

“I got it with all my friends,” she shared. “All my girls came and supported.” While her friends chose more visible spots like their hands, Kim went for a hidden location. “There’s not a shot I will get a tattoo,” she remembered saying, before deciding that an inside-the-lip infinity symbol was subtle enough to keep her ethos intact. She said, “I got it in my mouth so that no one would see it.”

A Rare Move for the Reality Star

This revelation is especially notable because Kim has always been vocal about her anti-tattoo stance. Growing up, tattoos were “against my ethos,” she told Fallon. For years, she was seen as the sister least likely to get inked, especially compared to siblings like Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, who openly sport body art.

But Kim’s tiny lip tattoo marks a shift, even if it’s one she forgets she made. She first disclosed the secret in 2023 during an episode of "The Kardashians," where she surprised her hairstylist Chris Appleton with the confession. “You guys, something you don’t know about me… Me and all my friends got matching tattoos.”

The Meaning Behind the Infinity Symbol

While Kim hasn’t spelled out exactly why she chose the infinity sign, the symbol typically represents forever, continuity, and a bond that doesn’t break. It’s also an apt metaphor for how SNL became a turning point for her. Not only did hosting the show boost her comedic chops, but it was also the start of her highly publicized relationship with then-boyfriend Pete Davidson.

The tattoo, she admitted, was a way of marking that transformative chapter in her life. “This is how you celebrate SNL, with a little tattoo at 4:30 in the morning,” she said in the footage shown on her family’s reality show.

Will Kim Get More Tattoos?

Don’t expect Kim to turn into a tattoo collector any time soon. Her lip ink may be her first, but it’s likely her last. Still, it’s a playful reminder that even the most polished celebrities sometimes break their own rules, especially in the name of friendship and unforgettable nights.

For a woman who built an empire on her image, this tiny hidden tattoo feels refreshingly human. At the end of the day, maybe even a Bentley deserves one discreet bumper sticker.
