Jennifer Lopez hits the studio in sporty style with Emme Muñiz, her closest companion by her side

Jennifer Lopez turned heads this week in Los Angeles, stepping out for a dance session in sporty-chic style alongside her 17-year-old child, Emme Muñiz. The iconic superstar and her teen have long shared a tight-knit bond, and this latest outing, just months after they and Emme’s twin brother Max joined J.Lo’s ex-husband Ben Affleck at the premiere of The Accountant 2.

Emme is one of JLo’s closest companions. The 55-year-old singer, actress, and fashion icon wore an oversized cropped grey zip-up hoodie, revealing her sculpted abs beneath a sleek black sports bra. She completed the look with black leggings, white socks pulled high, black sneakers, and her signature wavy locks topped with classic black aviator sunglasses. A large black handbag swung from her shoulder, adding a final touch of effortless glam to her off-duty look.

Emme, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, complemented their mom’s laid-back vibe with a casual and expressive fit. They wore a white tank layered under a grey-green button-up shirt, paired with baggy denim shorts, a brown belt, and high-top Converse sneakers. Emme's style screams creative soul, with eyeglasses and earbuds in place,  and grounded in individuality yet always in step with their mom.

Whether it’s a red carpet appearance or a low-key dance rehearsal, Lopez and Emme are frequently spotted together. The duo’s close relationship has made headlines over the years.  J.Lo has often described Emme as wise beyond their years and one of her greatest sources of inspiration. From performing together on stage to navigating the ups and downs of blended family life, the two share a connection that clearly runs deep.

Their recent dance studio visit comes just weeks after a blended family moment at Ben Affleck’s film premiere, where Lopez brought both Emme and Max to support her former husband. Affleck’s children: Violet, 19; Fin, 16; and Samuel, 13, who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, who also attended.

Affleck, who finalized his divorce from Lopez in January 2025, shared his joy at having everyone together that night. “It’s a great night. The kids are here, Jen’s kids are here. I’m very, very excited,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

“I’m proud of the movie, I love the movie, and I love when all the kids come out. It’s really fun, it’s exciting.”

He also praised Lopez for maintaining such a positive and nurturing relationship with his children, underscoring the mutual respect at the heart of their extended family. “For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them.”

“I love her kids. They’re wonderful. She’s [an] enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to. I’m thrilled that the kids are here with me. The relationships that you can have with children like that, it’s the joy of my life. And those kids are amazing, and I’m glad that this is a movie they want to come to.”
