Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a rare comment regarding his ex-wife Maria Shriver. The actor and former Governor of California was attending Amazon's Upfront event in New York, where he humorously addressed his relationship with Shriver.
Schwarzenegger attended the Upfront panel, hosted in New York, where he discussed his upcoming film "The Man with the Bag." There, he made a joke about his '90s Christmas film "Jingle All The Way," which is now a certified Christmas classic.
“Jingle All the Way was the greatest Christmas movie of all time,” said Schwarzenegger. “They play it the whole month of December. I know because my ex-wife calls me about the residual.”
The comment was friendly and rare, considering that Schwarzenegger steers clear of discussing Shriver and their past relationship with the media. His last comments were made in 2021, when he openly addressed the cause of their divorce while promoting his book "Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life."
"Remember, it’s not like we had a feud," said Schwarzenegger to PEOPLE, referencing his affair with their housekeeper Mildred Baena and the child they had together, Joseph Baena.
"We didn’t have a fight. It’s just my f--- up, right? She said, 'Okay, this is what it is,' and then she decided to make a split, so it was her decision. But the fact is, we always made it very clear that the kids should not suffer because of that."
Schwarzenegger has a new Christmas movie to add to his name
Schwarzenegger walked onto the Amazon stage to rapturous applause, discussing his upcoming Christmas movie, "The Man with the Bag." Schwarzenegger continued to joke his way through his set, throwing Christmas movies like "Elf" and "Home Alone" under the bus.
Jamie Lee Curtis, who attended to promote her TV show, began to push him off the stage. “I just want you to know this is elderly abuse,” said Schwarzenegger.
