Rachael Ray has prompted some fan concern in her latest cooking video. The TV personality and chef shared a video on Mother's Day, sharing some of the recipes that she used to prepare when she was young and didn't have a lot of money.
© Getty ImagesIn the clip, Ray reveals she didn't tell her mother about her struggles with money, wanting to avoid worrying her. "I was very very poor. And I didn't want to bother my mother. I didn't want her to feel scared for me," she said.
"So I would never ask for money and I didn't have any!"
Ray is seen wearing glasses and a sweater and speaks to the camera, with her voice trembling at times. "Eventually, I did a show called '$40 A Day' and that was my budget for a whole week," she said.

"She's unrecognizable!" reads another one.
Other viewers didn't want to encourage these types of comments. "Guys, it's documented that she's had personal struggles," wrote a third person. "Health is a gift, let's be kind or silent. We never know what people are going through."
Ray's comments regarding her health
In the past, Ray has alluded to some health concerns while retaining her privacy.
In an appearance on the podcast "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead," Ray revealed that she'd suffered "a couple of bad falls" in the past. The comment was made after she revealed she loved doing chores in the kitchen but had stopped recently due to her health. She didn't share further details.
In previous videos, fans have taken to the comments section to ask about Ray's health, with different people commenting on her speech pattern and wondering why some of her words appear slurred.
For the time being, Ray has yet to address any of these claims and continues to use her social media to promote he work.
