Salma Hayek is one of the most prominent Latinas in Hollywood. The road to get there was a complex one, with Hayek often speaking about the difficulties she’s faced when trying to create a space for herself in Hollywood and in the United States. It’s because of her personal experience that she intimately knows the position that young Latinas in Hollywood are in right now. Earlier this week, Hayek shared an encouraging message for these young actresses, prompting emotional replies from all of them.

“I’m always inspired when I hang out with the brilliant new generation of Latina actresses, they inject me with strength and inspiration,” reads Salma’s post, which tagged Camila Morrone, Jenna Ortega and Alexa Demie.
Her Instagram post is made up of various photos alongside the actresses, starting with Camila, with the image showing the two doing their make up in front of the mirror.
“Inspired by you, we love you so much,” wrote Camila in the comments.

Salma also shared a photo with Alexa, showing the two posing for a selfie at last year’s Balenciaga’s fashion show in Paris. Alexa dropped various kiss emojis on the post.

Jenna Ortega, one of Hollywood’s most prominent actresses thanks to her work in the Netflix series “Wednesday,” also reacted to Salma’s post.
“Thank you so much for all that you do and for paving the way,” wrote Jenna. The photo shows the two at this year’s MET Gala.

Earlier this year, Salma spoke about Latinas in Hollywood and how much the industry has changed over the past years. “I think it’s very clear that there’s many more interesting roles recently and that Hollywood has realized of how valuable we are as a global force with all of the productions that are getting made in Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and many more hispanic countries,” she said to the Latinamerican edition of Glamour magazine.
“Now these projects can be seen all over the world and a lot of work has been generated. Not only because doors have opened up in the industry, but because our countries have created collaborations that have strengthened the local cinema.”
