It’s been a messy situation over the last few months for 28-year-old producer Andrés Tovar who has been in the middle of an alleged love triangle filled with allegations of extortion, threats of lawsuits, and chaos. It all started on June 1st when Tovar confirmed on ‘Sale el sol’, that he was separated from 32-year-old actress Claudia Martín whom he married in 2019. Hours before his announcement TVNotas reported not only the news of their separation but that there was another woman involved: 38-year-old actress and singer Maite Perroni. Tovar denied that she had anything to do with the end of his marriage in his statement and Perroni’s lawyer confirmed that they would proceed legally against Martin to clear her name. Four months later on October 20th Perroni made her relationship with Tovar official, addressed the rumors and how it’s affected their safety, and shared her version of how their love story really started.

In her caption written in Spanish Perroni wrote, “When life gives you the opportunity to start over, do not hesitate to ask from the deepest part of your heart what your soul longs to find; this will never cease to surprise you..” “A few months ago a magazine published a series of lies about us, defamed and caricatured us. We didn‘t talk about it before because we found ourselves acting legally, but today, our lawyers allowed us to do so,” she wrote addressing reports that she was the “third” in their relationship.

The “Dark Desire” star went on to explain that she was the victim of blackmail referencing a series of audios her lawyer released which accused Martín of “extorting” Tovar. “We have experienced harassment, blackmail, manipulation, and even our safety and that of our families has been put at risk.” Furthermore, she asked to be left out of the ‘media circus,’ “Things were not as they were told and we do not want to be part of this media circus (which it seems we have to endure as people who are dedicated to the show business since under the pretext of “freedom of expression” limits are broken in which people‘s lives are violated and destroyed). That is why it is very important we clarify this situation,” she wrote.

Finally, Maite Perroni clarified how their love story started she wrote, “We have been friends for 20 years and this year we found that we were going through the same process: each one of us was in mourning for having ended a sentimental relationship. That is why for the first time since we met, we allowed ourselves to discover each other from another place, to see each other with different eyes, and today we are very happy together.” The happy in love star concluded her statement with, “We ask you to respect our story and whoever wants to be part of it, from love, will always be welcome.”
