Held over several days in keeping with the customs of Malaysia's royal households, the lavish celebration was presided over by Sultan Abdullah Shah of Pahang, who served as Malaysia's King until earlier this year, alongside his son and heir, Crown Prince Hassanal Ibrahim. The princess, daughter of the Sultan and former actress and model Che Puan Julia Rais, walked down the aisle surrounded by her siblings and close family members in a setting that reflected the grandeur of the royal court.

The festivities began on August 7 with the solemn Akad Nikah, the traditional Islamic marriage ceremony, during which the couple exchanged vows and formally sealed their union under the blessing of the Sahibus Samahah Mufti of Pahang, Professor Dato' Dr. Haji Asmadi bin Mohamed Naim, who officiated the ceremony.

Following the prayers, the exchange of rings, and the formal presentation of the mas kahwin (marital gift), the Sultanate of Pahang issued an official message of congratulations, offering prayers that "the couple may be blessed with happiness, grace, and lasting prosperity as they begin this new chapter together, building a home founded on peace, love, and mercy."

Haute Couture and the Royal Jewel Collection

For the occasion, the Shangri-La's elegant ballrooms were transformed into a magnificent palace-inspired setting, where every decorative detail paid tribute to the Sultanate of Pahang's rich cultural heritage. At the center of the celebration stood a majestic pelamin, or ceremonial wedding dais, beneath an opulent canopy embroidered with gold thread and framed by lush floral arrangements in ivory, blush pink, and shimmering gold. Handcrafted silk cushions, traditional textiles, and warm ambient lighting created an enchanting atmosphere, while lavish centerpieces filled with exotic orchids and fresh roses completed the sophisticated setting.

On the first day, the bride wore an Art Deco diadem that brought sleek geometric elegance to her look. For the second evening, she chose an even more dramatic tiara paired with an extraordinary diamond choker. Beside her, Chris Froggatt, a former Ferrari champion, completed the regal portrait in the traditional Malay tengkolok headdress, pairing classic Western tailoring with the ceremonial elegance of Malaysian royal protocol.

Ancient Rituals and a Distinguished Guest List

Escorted beneath a traditional ceremonial canopy to the pelamin, the newlyweds took part in a series of centuries-old rituals before family members and invited guests. Princess Tengku Tan Sri Dato' Sri Setia Hajjah Meriam performed the Istiadat Menyuap Nasi Semangat, the traditional ceremonial feeding of the bride and groom. The Sultan then bestowed his paternal blessing through the Istiadat Meletakkan Panca Bicara, a symbolic sprinkling ritual.

Their presence added yet another touch of prestige to an unforgettable royal wedding.
