Kate Middleton and Prince William could draw on their university years to protect George at Eton

Kate Middleton and Prince William are preparing for one of the biggest changes they'll face as a family. As their eldest son, Prince George, enters his 13th year, he'll be moving to Eton College, a prestigious boarding school that has hosted his father and grandfather. According to new reports, Kate and William might bring back an old agreement from their college days to ensure George is protected and safe from the paparazzi.

As reported by Vanity Fair, the Prince and Princess of Wales want to establish a "gentlemen's agreement" with the press, limiting the intrusion of British tabloids and media on the lives of their children as they grow up and begin to form lives of their own. 

This agreement could be similar to the one Kate and William had when they first started dating while attending the University of St. Andrews.

The Royal family reportedly had an agreement with the tabloids throughout Prince William and Prince Harry's schooling, ensuring that their privacy was respected. This agreement was one of the reasons why William and Kate were able to pursue their relationship without the involvement of the world, leading a normal life as students falling in love. 

Prince George is expected to start school in Eton this September.

Kate and William met at St. Andrews University in 2001, with the two starting as friends. Once the relationship turned romantic, they managed to keep it a secret from the press for two years, with them photographed on their first holiday together in 2004.

In 2006, the two seemed much more at ease with each other in public, sharing a kiss as Kate supported William in one of his polo matches. The following year, the two broke up, sparking much media coverage. 

“We were both very young,” said William on their engagement interview with the press.“We were both finding ourselves and such and being different characters and such.”

They got back together shortly after, and confirmed their engagement in 2010, after almost a decade of knowing eachother. They welcomed Prince George in 2013. They then welcomed their two other children: Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. The couple celebrated their 15th anniversary in April of this year, looking back at their stunning wedding ceremony. 

They marked the special moment with a photo of their family, made up of their kids and pets. "Celebrating 15 years of marriage," reads the post's caption, which includes a heart emoji.
