The Hashemite Royal House is celebrating once again: Queen Rania of Jordan has announced that she and King Abdullah will be grandparents again. It's another happy entry into a chapter of the family's lives, one that the grandparents are clearly relishing.
The King and Queen have received this news at a time of complete institutional and personal stability.

She is seen alongside her husband, Jameel Thermiotis, and their daughter, with the three smiling together outdoors, surrounded by greenery. Rania shared the same post on her Instagram stories.
The news comes at a quiet moment, following the major family celebrations in May, where Princess Iman was absent. It was then that Abdullah and Rania, alongside the Crown Prince and Princess and the rest of the royal family, celebrated the 80th anniversary of Jordan's independence with a series of significant official events marking the country's independence from the United Kingdom.
Jordan became independent of British rule in 1946 and was proclaimed the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Hashemite dynasty has been ruling the country since 1921 and has a lineage that dates back centuries, ruling in the city of Mecca in the 10th century.

Princess Iman of Jordan, the King and Queen's second daughter, married the Venezuelan financier Jameel Alexander Thermiotis in a fabulous royal wedding in March 2023 at Beit Al Urdun Palace, the monarch's private residence located in the exclusive Dabouq district.
Despite their royal status, the couple has always maintained a low profile. The public-facing events are usually carried out by Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, who occupy a more prominent place in the family and are expected to serve as Jordan's future King and Queen.
Hussein is the eldest son of Rania and Abdullah. He married Rajwa in 2023, after being set up by a mutual friend. They had their first daughter, Princess Iman, sweetly named after her aunt, six months earlier. She's become a social media star in her own right, with Rania sharing adorable updates through her social media.
Princess Iman's first daughter, Amina, was born in February 2025, becoming the King and Queen's second grandchild.
