Princess Charlene of Monaco once again stole the spotlight during the Monaco E-Prix closing gala, held at the legendary Salle Empire inside the Hôtel de Paris. After attending the final day of the Formula E competition alongside Prince Albert and presenting trophies to the winning drivers, including race winner Oliver Rowland, the princess reappeared in a black-tie look capable of eclipsing any red carpet.
For an evening defined by luxury and high-speed motorsport, Princess Charlene chose a shimmering gown by Jenny Packham. The British designer is adored by numerous European royals and has been a staple in the wardrobe of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, for over a decade.
A Sheer, Beaded Evening Gown
The Princess of Monaco opted for Jenny Packham’s “Wanderlust” model, a spectacular evening gown that blends drama and classic elegance with a highly contemporary aesthetic. The creation pairs a flowing, floor-length midnight blue skirt with a semi-sheer bodice completely embroidered with sequins, crystals, and silver beadwork.
The top was crafted over a delicate tulle base that subtly revealed glimpses of skin, while the shimmering embroidery caught the light with every movement. One of the gown’s standout features was its sheer, cape-style sleeves. Light and ethereal, they added a sense of theatricality to the ensemble.
The tailored silhouette, which cinched at the waist, beautifully elongated Charlene’s figure and enhanced the Old Hollywood inspiration that is so prominent in many of Jenny Packham’s designs. The gown, valued at around 4,000 euros (estimated $4,600), comes from one of the British label’s recent collections.
It is no coincidence that Jenny Packham has become a go-to designer for European royalty. The Princess of Wales helped popularize these jewel-encrusted gowns internationally more than twelve years ago, and since then, the designer’s creations have become regulars in royal closets across the continent.
Shimmering Jewelry and Matching Silver Makeup
Charlene paired the dress with white gold or platinum and diamond jewelry, maintaining a refined and minimalist approach so as not to compete with the visual impact of the gown. She wore diamond hoop earrings, a matching bangle, and an elegant solitaire ring.
Her beauty look perfectly matched the color palette of the dress. The princess went with high-shine silver eyeshadow, burgundy eyeliner to intensify her gaze, and black mascara. Her lips, finished with a light pink gloss, added a fresh, balanced touch to the overall look
As for her hair, she wore a polished updo with a side part and a few wavy strands framing her face, a choice that softened the final look and reinforced its classic elegance.
The Monaco E-Prix: Luxury, Speed, and Royalty
The gala marked the conclusion of an action-packed weekend dedicated to Formula E in Monte Carlo. The two races held this weekend are part of the 2025–2026 World Championship and take place on the exact same street circuit that will host the historic Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix in just a few weeks.
Once again, Charlene proved how she has turned shimmering gowns and sophisticated silhouettes into her ultimate signature style for major nights in the principality.
