Which zodiac sign is the most romantic? Who yearns the most - and who’s at the bottom

In a world where people are playing nonchalantly, finding a hopeless romantic can fill you with butterflies. If you’ve ever wondered why some signs yearned for you and others friend-zoned you, it looks like there is a pattern.

A February 2026 survey from Tarotoo asked 716 people about their real-life relationships, personal experiences, and observations, and Cancers came out on top as the most romantic zodiac sign. Over 15% of respondents described them as the most sensual and giving partners, with relationships often labeled “cozy” and sweet. Basically, if you like soft love and emotional depth, the crabs are winning.

Right behind them is another water sign, Pisces. About 14.4% of participants praised Pisces for their dreamy, creative affection, like poems, love letters, and curated playlists. 

But before water signs start celebrating too hard, Tarotoo’s astrology expert added a little reality check: “While romantic people can belong to any sign, many of them have traceable romantic tendencies. And that goes for pitfalls, too. Cancers and Pisces both can be very inconsistent with their loyalties and over-dramatic. No sign is perfect.”

Libras landed in third, with 12.4% of respondents swooning over their calm energy, attention to detail, and big surprises and expensive dates. 

Taurus followed closely, praised for steady, reliable love (and having one of the highest positive comment rates overall). 

Leo was the only fire sign to crack the top five, chosen by 8.8% of respondents who clearly prefer grand gestures and cinematic romance.  From there, Scorpio (8.37%), Capricorn (6.11%), Virgo (5.66%), Sagittarius (4.75%), Aquarius (4.52%), and Aries (4.30%) followed. 

At the bottom? Gemini (3.39%). Often described as amazing friends and platonic companions - just not the first pick for long-term romance, according to the survey. So if a Gemini friend-zoned you, you can take comfort knowing it wasn't you. 

Still, the expert was quick to remind everyone not to take it too literally: “No relationship can ever be 100% predictable… If you’re interested in birth charts, look at the Moon and Venus signs for sure, but also, don’t forget to see the person in front of you for who they are. It will tell you much more than any star chart analysis.”
