News broke early this week that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda are getting a divorce after 27 years of marriage. During their almost 30 year marriage, the wealthy couple has been very involved in philanthropic work as well as buying stunning pieces of real estate around the West Coast.

Del Mar, CA

The Gates’ $50 million dollars beachfront mansion in Del Mar, CA is 5,800-square-feet and has six bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Rancho Santa Fe, California

Another one of the Gates’ mansions at the Del Mar Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California. The couple reportedly paid $5.1 million in 1999 for the home.

Big Sky, Montana

Bill and Melinda Gates’ condo at the private Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana was reportedly $5 million back when the couple purchased it.
