Are you planning to move to Florida? If living in Miami is part of your dream, then you could be among the first ones to move to the Waldorf Astoria. When finished, the 1,049 feet tall skyscraper will be one of the world’s tallest residential buildings.

The 100-story luxury tower features an architectural design of multiple offset glass cubes stacked. The ambitious structure is an idea of designer Carlos Ott, known for building the Opera Bastille in Paris, while Sieger Suarez is in charge of the execution. California-based firm BAMO will be doing the interiors of the building.

“How do we make something that looks like it’s very difficult—close to impossible—while actually being able to build it, and it not costing a fortune?” says Ryan Shear, managing partner at Property Markets Group. “It was a challenge to make something that looks structurally challenging; that has an interesting façade.”

“It’s not every day that you get to work with an iconic five-star brand to build a tower that is also the tallest below New York City,” Shear told The New York Post. “We’re pretty modern with most of our buildings at PMG, and we really wanted to turn this one into a ‘stop and think’ piece, where it leads people to ask: ‘How did they build that tower?’”

“A lot of the feedback we’ve gotten from brokers and people, in general, has been: ‘Are you sure that’s going to stand up?’” he told the publication. “That was our whole goal, to create an optical illusion, a piece of art that makes people talk.”

Among the amenities, residents will have access to specialty restaurant Peacock Alley, a resort-style pool deck with private cabanas, meeting and boardroom spaces, a spa, a fitness center, and the units will have smart-home technology.

The luxury tower will have 360 residences and 205 hotel rooms and suites that will belong to Waldorf Astoria hotel. Condo prices start at $1 million, and those who wish to grab one of the units can start today by contacting the developer and Douglas Elliman’s Eklund | Gomes Team.
