Aislinn Derbez

Nearly a decade after she first fell in love with the script for Hasta el fin del mundo, the Mexican actress finally brought it to the screen as a producer and star

Aislinn Derbez spent years waiting for the right moment to make Hasta el fin del mundo. She first read the script nearly a decade ago while sitting on a plane next to her then-husband, Mauricio Ochmann, and immediately knew something about it was special. Years later, even after their marriage ended and the production company they shared dissolved, Derbez held on to the story.

In 2026, she finally brought the story to the screen. Filmed in Madrid, Hasta el fin del mundo opened in Mexican theaters on July 23rd, 2026, before arriving on Disney+. The romantic drama, set partly in 1970s Spain, reunited Derbez and Ochmann on screen and became the first feature she produced from the ground up.

And for Derbez, that distinction matters. She has spent much of her career in front of the camera, but in recent years she has increasingly moved behind it, creating the kind of opportunities she once waited to receive.

Then, in 2025, Derbez starred in the Disney+ romantic comedy Entre Paredes, which she also executive produced. That April, she co-hosted the Premios Platino in Madrid, one of the biggest nights celebrating Ibero-American film and television.

Her ambitions also go beyond acting. In October 2025, the Derbez family announced DRBZ Estudio Digital, a production company designed to develop original content, podcasts and projects from the family’s individual creative worlds. Aislinn has already built one of those worlds with La Magia del Caos, her wellness platform and long-running podcast, which continued releasing new conversations throughout 2026.

It makes Hasta el fin del mundo a significant movie in her filmography.

Derbez once spoke about wanting to stop depending on the projects that came her way and start creating her own. Nearly a decade after refusing to let this particular story go, she has done exactly that, turning an old script into one of the most personal projects of her career.
