Evaluna Montaner has spent much of her career making music with the people closest to her. There have been duets with Camilo, her husband, songs with the Montaner family and music videos she has directed from behind the camera. Then came “Rollitos de Papel.” Released January 20, 2026 through Sony Music Latin, the understated single brought her back to solo music after several years and offered a glimpse of where she may be headed next.

Recorded at El Taller Creativo in Miami, the song is built around warm guitar, soft percussion and an unhurried vocal. Its central lyric, “Tú me alcanzas cuando paro de correr” (“You reach me when I stop running”), captures something Evaluna has been thinking about latelyº: the value of stopping when so much of life encourages constant movement.

For the Caracas-born singer, actress and director, that pause comes after years spent moving between different creative roles. She has also become more involved in songwriting, speaking about the importance of being able to stand behind the emotions she sings about. Some of her earlier material was written for her, including songs by her brother Ricky. This time, the connection to the writing is much closer.

Music with Camilo has also remained part of her journey. Their song “Plis” won Tropical Collaboration of the Year at Premio Lo Nuestro in 2025, adding another shared hit to a partnership that often moves between the personal and the creative. And Evaluna is just as comfortable behind the camera. She has directed or co-directed several of Camilo’s music videos, including “Favorito” and “El Mismo Aire.”

Another theme for her is family, which was still very much present in 2026. “Si Tuviera Que Elegir,” recorded with her father, Ricardo Montaner, and Camilo, received a Best Pop Song nomination at Premios Juventud. In September, she was the only guest on Camilo’s Para Cuando Sean Mayores, the album he wrote for their daughters, Índigo and Amaranto. It closes with “For Eva” and “Luna,” two songs written for her.

“Rollitos de Papel” adds another dimension to that creative life. Evaluna is not leaving collaboration behind or separating herself from a family whose music has long been intertwined with hers. She is simply spending more time writing, recording and figuring out what she wants to say next. For an artist who has grown up surrounded by music, she is entering her most personal chapter yet.
