Claudia Romo Edelman is a Mexican-Swiss diplomat that was born in Mexico City, to parents Cecilia Romo and Raul Doming Gonzales Soto. Her legacy dates back to her mother, the Mexican actress Cecilia Romo, a pioneer for Latinas in Hollywood.
Throughout her life, Claudia has worked as a journalist, a press correspondent, and diplomat, becoming a voice that championed important causes. She holds degrees in Communications, Philosophy, and Photography, as well as a Masters of Political Communications from the London School of Economics.
For over 25 years Claudia was involved in organizations like UNICEF, The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the World Economic Forum. She’s been a member of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and was ranked as one of the most powerful Latinas by the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA). She’s won a variety of awards that range in importance, from the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, to earning a ranking at People Magazine’s list of 25 most powerful Latinas. She was also a professor of marketing for social causes at the University of Geneva.
In recent years, Claudia has made some of her best work yet, being the founder of “We Are All Human Foundation,” a New York-based non-profit that advocates for all human beings, bringing us all together through our shared humanity. The foundation’s motto is “For every human to value every human. It’s simple: WE ARE ALL HUMAN,” asking everyone to recognize this truth in each other, and to find unity through it, regardless of race, religion, culture, gender, or nationality.
Claudia is currently based in the U.S. but travels all over the world in order to host forums and act as a speaker at important and global events. She still teaches, hosting a variety of Massive Open Online Courses while also providing training on public speaking, networking, and social branding. Claudia is fluent in six languages and is married to Richard Edelman, the President and CEO of Edelman, an American PR and marketing consulting firm. She has two children.
