Conductor and curator, Lina González-Granados is one of the most successful conductors in the world. Currently the Assistant Director of Unitas Orchestra (Boston’s Latinamerican Orchestra which she founded), Chicago Symphony and is the Philadelphia Orchestra Conducting Fellow. Known as an international superstar in both symphonic and operatic repertoire, she has won the 2021 Sphinx Medal of Excellence, ECHO Special Award (European Concert Hall Orchestra Association) of La Maestra Competition and the 2020 Solti Foundation US Career Assistance Award.

After winning the Fourth Chicago Symphony Orchestra Sir Georg Solti International Conducting Competition, she became the new Solti Conducting Apprentice with the CSO and will have this position from 2020-2022.

Born in Cali, Colombia, González-Granados moved to the U.S. in 2010 and studied at the New England Conservatory and earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from Boston University.

She has been featured in Telemundo, Semana, the Boston Globe, Seattle Time and CNN. She is an advocate for the development and inclusion of new works, especially by Latin-American composers. Her dedication to this helped form her Unitas Orchestra that performs works of Latino composers and provides free access to community performances in underserved communities. Her hard work with her community won her a Spark Boston award from the city of Boston.
