Jamie Harper knows what it takes to make someone look their best in front of a camera. Over more than two decades, the celebrity makeup artist has worked with some of entertainment’s most recognizable faces, from Marc Anthony and Paulina Rubio to Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke.
Born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico, Harper began her career as a model before discovering makeup artistry through her agent, the late Dalbert Rosado. She later moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, but found her calling behind the camera. In 2004, she launched Beauty by Harper, eventually building a clientele that included major recording artists and fashion brands such as Oscar de la Renta, Monse and Hugo Boss.
Today, her client list includes Jill Scott, María Becerra, Nadia Ferreira, Adamari López and Candice Swanepoel. An Emmy-nominated artist and member of Local 798, Harper has also worked on productions for major television networks, including Univision, Bravo, BET and NBC. Her signature approach favors modern glamour and beautiful, camera-ready skin.
Her work has been especially visible to ¡HOLA! readers in 2025 and 2026. She created the hair and makeup for Isabela Merced’s May 2025 digital cover, followed by Marc Anthony’s February 2026 cover celebrating his Las Vegas residency. That July, she was behind Elena Rose’s beauty look for her ¡HOLA! digital cover.
Puerto Rico has always held a special place in Harper’s heart. When Hurricane María devastated the island in 2017, she had family living there and traveled to help those who had lost so much. That experience led her to create Harper 4 Humanity, a nonprofit through which she continues to support communities affected by natural disasters. She has since returned to Puerto Rico after the 2020 earthquakes and traveled as far as Jamaica to deliver supplies, completing 24 humanitarian missions along the way.
For Harper, makeup artistry has opened doors to extraordinary people and opportunities. More than 20 years after launching her business, she continues to work with leading names in music, fashion, and entertainment, while finding ways to use her success to help others. Her career reflects a woman who loves what she does and hasn’t forgotten the community that helped shape her.
