Just days after making waves at the 2026 Met Gala, Vera Wang stepped out once again and reminded everyone that at 76, she has more energy and style than most.
On May 12, the legendary designer attended the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party at The Glasshouse in New York City, looking amazing. She arrived in a silky champagne-blush gown that blended glamour with the cool, dramatic styling she’s become known for.
The sleeveless satin gown featured a softly draped cowl neckline and a body-skimming silhouette that hugged her torso before flaring out into a dramatic fishtail-style hem.
Her famous waist-length hair was worn pin-straight, and she accessorized with a pair of oversized, dark black sunglasses. Overall, it mixed old Hollywood slip-dress elegance with Wang’s signature slightly undone, editorial edge.
Vera takes the Met
The latest outing comes shortly after her dramatic appearance at this year’s Met Gala, where she embraced a darker aesthetic, showing off a new blonde look.
She wore a sculptural black gown with sharp cutouts, an exaggerated shoulder, and a sweeping train. She walked the carpet and posed inside with Australian actor Elizabeth Debick, who wore a custom Vera Wang HAUTE gown
Vera Wang's secret
While fans continue trying to figure out Wang’s “secret,” the designer herself insists it has less to do with beauty regimens and more to do with staying busy.
“I always say to people, I think I work really hard, and I think work is a great deterrent,” Wang recently told E! News at the DKMS Gala in New York City. “It just keeps you occupied mentally, physically. It keeps you engaged. So I think work is really, really important.”
She also shared a surprisingly refreshing perspective on aging, encouraging people to celebrate birthdays instead of fearing them.
“I don't set goals at this age, but I'm very grateful that I have the help I have, and I feel that I'm lucky to be able to be as active and as engaged as I am,” she explained. “Birthdays should be celebrated and treasured. A lot of my friends are scared. I say, if you get to this stage, you're really lucky. So you should celebrate it.”
Of course, Wang has also become famous online for her unexpectedly relatable habits. In a 2023 interview with Page Six, she revealed that she regularly eats McDonald’s - sometimes every day for weeks at a time. “I do eat McDonald’s, absolutely,” she told the outlet. “I order it every day, like two weeks on it, and then I’ll change.”'
And then there’s the now-iconic answer she gave when someone asked about her ab routine after a viral 2020 photo sparked internet chaos: “Work, sleep, a vodka cocktail, not much sun.”
When talking to PEOPLE about the viral post, which had people saying she was drinking "unicorn blood," she told the outlet she hopes it makes women feel more comfortable with themselves. “I guess it’s just that people have an idea of what 70 looks like today. I have so many friends who are 65 to 70 that look fabulous," she said.
"But I have to say that hopefully, it’s a good thing. I hope it makes women feel more comfortable with themselves, or be confident, or there are many definitions of what a woman can be," the designer continued
