Olivia Rodrigo is leaning all the way into her babydoll era, and it’s so babygirl. The singer stepped out in Koreatown this week to celebrate her new single “drop dead” at Feel Karaoke, and the look was perfect.

The "Vampire" singer wore a soft pink babydoll mini dress with a floaty, slightly oversized silhouette, paired with knee-high white socks and silver Mary Jane heels. It had that coquette, doll-like energy, but she still looked mature and cool. A black shoulder bag kept it from feeling too precious.

It’s sweet, but not innocent. Soft, but with an edge. The look lines up with the energy of “drop dead,” which might be her most playful and chaotic love song yet.

"drop dead" her best song yet?

The track is the lead single off her upcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, and everything about it points to a shift from breakup anthems to her lover girl era.

It’s dramatic, a little unhinged, and very feelings-forward. She even described the song as feeling like “running through a garden,” which makes sense considering the music video was shot at the Palace of Versailles in just nine hours.

“When I wrote the song, I immediately was like, ‘Oh, it'd be so cool if you could film in Versailles,’ because the song to me just feels like running. Like, whenever I listen to this song, it just feels like running through a garden. And I was like that'd be perfect to do it at Versailles," she told  Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1’s New Music Daily.

People think the song is about the start of her romance with Louis Partridge. The couple was first spotted together in October 2023 following her breakup with Zack Bia.

While they kept their relationship private, they posed for photos at various events for the next two years until their split in December 2025. “It’s not been the easiest few weeks for them, and they decided it’s better to be apart for now,” a source told the outlet at the time.

There are clues that the song is about him, the biggest being their zodiac signs. Rodrigo is a Pisces, and Partridge is a Gemini, “Pisces and a Gemini, but I think we might go really nice together," she sings.

A new boo?

Now her muse, Rodrigo, has seemingly begun to move on with another artist. On Tuesday, she was spotted out in Los Angeles with Geese frontman Cameron Winter.
