The Princess of Wales was the picture of elegance on Tuesday as she and Prince William welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, at the start of their state visit to the UK. Catherine, known for her diplomatic dressing, looked très chic wearing a Christian Dior jacket teamed with a tulle midi skirt from the French fashion house.
Dior's Bar Jacket is described as an "emblematic style from the New Look collection" that was created by Christian Dior back in 1947. The jacket was later reimagined by Maria Grazia Chiuri., who was Dior's first female creative director.
The Princess of Wales completed her elegant ensemble on July 8 with a three-strand pearl necklace, her late mother-in-law Princess Diana's earrings and a hat by British milliner Jess Collett that featured a bow, wearing her hair down in waves.
The French president and first lady's three-day state visit to the UK kicked off on Tuesday. Catherine and William, on behalf of the King, welcomed the couple at RAF Northolt, where the president greeted Catherine with a kiss on her hand. Following the couple's arrival, they traveled to Windsor for a ceremonial welcome with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The Prince and Princess of Wales were also in attendance and participated in the carriage procession to Windsor Castle.
Catherine's appearance came six days after she visited the RHS Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital. There, the Princess spoke about her post-cancer treatment phase. "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,' but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult," she shared, via PEOPLE.
"You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to," the Princess of Wales continued. "And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable."
The royal mom of three announced last September that she had finished her chemotherapy treatment, which she started in late February 2024. This past January, Catherine revealed that she was now in remission.
