Colorful and sweet: the ombré gradient-effect takes over the runways

Spanish designer Krizia Robustella showcased pieces like this baggy shirt with a masculine feel in blues and pinks. The oversized trend has been unstoppable over the last few seasons, and this pastel-colored number shows it clearly still has a lot left to offer.

Feminine suits are another huge favorite in the fashion world, and Ralph & Russo gave them a super cute twist with this jacket and joggers two-piece featuring a large pashmina and sneakers, all saturated with pastel pink, blue and yellow.

Using the same color palette for their Haute Couture Spring/Summer collection, the European brand revamped the classic ball gown by adding asymmetry in the sleeves and covering the skirt in feathers to add movement and volume to this delicate piece.

As if from a modern fairy tale, Japanese designer Tadashi Shoji –known for his stunning evening gowns– tailored a long dress covered in floral embroidery in a mix of pinks and greens. This delicate dress is the perfect way to harmoniously blend spring and summer.

The blended-color look is undoubtedly ideal for day-to-day, and at Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2020, we saw a whole host of casual outfits replete with style, like this t-shirt with the effect paired with black leather pants and Bottega Veneta heels. You can easily recreate this look for a night out with the girls or a day at the office.

The Japanese brand Ktoka went for romanticism by combining a subtle ombré print in blue hues with a floral print in the same colors. Both pieces stand out for their oversized fit, which is definitely here to stay.

For New York Fashion Week, Raisa Vanessa opted for the ombré look in jewel tones –somewhat resembling a magnificent sunset– for this asymmetrical mini dress with puff sleeves. A much fiercer color proposal.

Sequins are a classic go-to to get that gradient effect, and Temperley London totally went for it when designing this long sequinned dress, where the colors melt subtly together in a glistening sea of soft hues.
