Inde Navarratte has had a special breakout year. The actress starred in "Obsession," one of the year's biggest movies of the year. The role has made her an instant star, sparking rumors of an Oscar nomination and facilitating many business opportunities for her. She recently revealed she talked to Jake Schreier, the director of the new X-Men movie. She also revealed the character she'd like to play.

“I’ve been taking a lot of meetings since ‘Obsession’ came out,” she said. "That’s been really nice because you get to meet people and ask questions.”
Navarratte opened up about her experience meeting Schreier, who recently directed the "Thunderbolts" movie, which established a new team of Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
© Inde Navarrette/IG“I thought what Jake brought to ‘Thunderbolts’ was what I used to love about Marvel,” she said. “It was character-driven, and the whole time I just couldn’t stop yapping about how much I appreciated what he did with Marvel.”
She made it clear that while the meeting was exciting, over the past year, she's mostly used her time to meet with filmmakers she's interested in, and that it's not a confirmation of her being signed on to any particular project. Still, if asked, she has a favorite X-Men she'd like to play. “I mean, Mystique has always been super cool," she said.
The new "X-Men" is scheduled for release in 2028. For the time being, the only confirmed casting includes Sadie Sink and Samara Weaving.
Navarrette's Hispanic heritage
Navarrette comes from a mixed background, with her mother being Australian and her father being Mexican. Over the past year, she's talked about her heritage, particularly when it comes to Latinos' love of the horror genre.
"I used to go to my tia’s house and watch horror movies that scared the crap out of me as a kid. Horror has been important to my family, even though it’s very scary to me. So I felt like every time that I would say, I’m not a fan of horror because it scares me, I never wanted to distance myself from it, because it feels so culturally close to me," she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.
While Navarrette has been in the spotlight throughout the past months, she's yet to confirm her attachment to any new projects and is carefully planning her future and career out. According to IMDB, she'll star in the film "Invertigo," which is in post-production.
