The stage is set, the crown awaits, and Puerto Rico is about to sparkle brighter than ever. In November 2026, the island will host the 75th edition of Miss Universe, marking its Diamond Anniversary. This milestone celebration will unfold at the iconic José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, a venue that has witnessed some of the island’s most legendary moments.

The announcement was made on September 23 at a press conference filled with nostalgia, pride, and star power. Puerto Rico’s very own Miss Universe winners—Deborah Carthy-Deu (1985), Denise Quiñones (2001), and Zuleyka Rivera (2006)—were present, while Dayanara Torres (1993) joined virtually. Adding to the excitement, the reigning Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, also joined the historic reveal.

Governor Jenniffer González shared the stage with Miss Universe Organization president Raúl Rocha Cantú, who expressed the immense significance of Puerto Rico hosting this landmark edition. He proudly stated that over 135 nations are expected to participate in what will be a one-of-a-kind Diamond celebration.

A Legacy of Queens and Crowns

This won’t be the first time the island welcomes the world’s most celebrated beauty pageant. Puerto Rico has a rich history with Miss Universe, having hosted three unforgettable editions:

Hosting the Diamond Anniversary in 2026 marks a powerful return, tying together history, culture, and global recognition.

All Eyes on 2025

Before the Diamond celebration, the world’s attention turns to Thailand on November 21, 2025, where the 74th edition will crown the new Miss Universe. Representing Puerto Rico with pride will be Zashely Alicea, a 26-year-old model, gymnast, student, and activist. Alicea is determined to bring the title home, setting the stage for what could be the perfect lead-up to Puerto Rico’s hosting year.

Puerto Rico’s blend of Caribbean charm, cultural vibrancy, and history with the Miss Universe pageant makes it a natural choice for this milestone. The island has produced five Miss Universe winners and continues to be a powerhouse in the pageant world. Beyond the glamour, hosting the event brings global attention, boosts tourism, and cements Puerto Rico as an international hub for beauty and culture.
