Madonna is getting ready to release new music. The pop icon announced a new album yesterday, teasing a release window and the fact that it's a follow-up to one of the most beloved and famous albums of her career.
In a post shared on Instagram, Madonna shared details of the record, revealing that it's a follow-up to "Confessions on a Dance Floor," her 2005 album. The announcement was accompanied by a photoshoot of Madonna, seen striking different poses while wearing a pink gown and some jewelry. The final image shows a dress, a purse, and some glittery golden heels.
"Almost 2 decades later - And it Feels like home with Warner Records!" reads her caption. "Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor, Back to where it all began! COADF- P. 2 2026."
Warner Records also announced that they had signed Madonna again after two decades of the artist working with different labels, with them describing the record as Madonna's “highly anticipated, upcoming new dance album.” The label was Madonna's home for 25 years, beginning in 1982 and following the release of her first album, titled "Madonna," in 1983.
The post quickly ramped up likes and support from all sorts of sources, including comments from musicians and fans. "Fab," wrote Arca.
"YESSSSS," wrote Pablo Vittar, adding various crowns.
Madonna shares a lengthier statement
In a separate statement, Madonna explained the importance of her partnership with Warner Records, discussing the start of her career as a young artist based in New York City.
”From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again, and in fact that couldn’t have been truer,” she said. “Since the beginning, Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”
"Confessions on a Dance Floor Pt. 2" is scheduled for release in 2026. She'll be partnering up with Stuart Price, one of the songwriters and producers of the original album. The record marks her first full-length album since "Madame X," released in 2019.
