Yuri performed her song ‘Hombres al Borde de un Ataque de Celos’ and won Song of the Year in the Pop/Ballad category.

Puerto Rican singer Lalo Rodríguez tied with Los Bukis for the most awards, winning 3. Rodríguez won Tropical Salsa Album of the Year (Un Nuevo Despertar), Tropical Salsa Song of the Year, (‘Ven, Devórame Otra Vez“), and Tropical Salsa Artist of the year.

Los Bukis received several awards winning Regional Mexican Group of the Year, Regional Mexican Song of the Year (Y Ahora Te Vas), and Regional Mexican Album of the Year (Si Me Recuerdas)

The late José José won Best Male Performer in the Pop/Ballad category

Ana Gabriel presented Song of the Year in the Regional Mexican category and to sang her single ‘Ay amor.’

The Producer of the Year award was won by Marco Antonio Solis with the album ‘Si Me Recuerdos’.

The award for Best Male Performer in the Regional Mexican Music category went to the late Vicente Fernández who could not attend.
