Kim Kardashian is giving Law Roach room to get creative, and the celebrity stylist is appreciating the freedom. Roach opened up about working with the SKIMS founder at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards on October 16, where Heidi Klum presented him with an honor.
The stylist, known for his work with Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, Megan Thee Stallion, Mary J. Blige, Ariana Grande and Céline Dion, confirmed in September that Kardashian had joined his roster of clients.
“She is such a beautiful person and nice and easy [to work with]. She knows what she wants, but she also lets you create,” Roach told PEOPLE.
That balance between Kardashian’s personal taste and his own creative instincts is central to how he approaches dressing her. Roach explained that fashion is subjective, and each stylist brings a different perspective to the person they are working with.
“What’s different from stylist to stylist is just our perception of who the woman is, right? And so what I’m doing with Kim, it’s just the way I see Kim Kardashian. I may see her differently than one of her other stylists, and that’s the beauty about fashion and being creative: it’s just perception,” he said.
Roach summed up their experience together by describing the collaboration as “really, really, really fun.”
Roach and Kardashian’s fashion connection goes back further than their latest collaboration. In 2019, the stylist dressed the reality star for a New York Magazine cover, putting her in a look by designer Alexander Wang.
Fast forward to 2026, the pair stepped out together for a high-profile fashion event. On September 19, Kardashian attended the opening celebration of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art wearing a vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress from the Fall/Winter 2004 collection, designed by Tom Ford.
The archival piece allowed Roach to bring his own point of view to Kardashian’s red-carpet wardrobe.
His latest comments also build on praise he previously shared about the Kardashian family’s influence on pop culture.
In an October 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Roach discussed the family’s ability to anticipate what consumers might want, referencing SKIMS’ then-new pubic hair underwear.
“Let me tell you something about Kim Kardashian, all the Kardashians. I think they really understand pop culture and I think that’s what makes them successful because we are all waiting to buy something from them,” he said.
“Maybe they haven’t invented it yet, but I truly believe that they will,” he added. “And when they do, we’ll all buy it. And I think that’s brilliant.”
