Hollywood turned out in force for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art Opening Night, but the Latino talent in the room deserves its own spotlight. Eva Longoria, Sofía Vergara, Camila Cabello, Guillermo del Toro, Andy Garcia, Robert Rodriguez and Cheech Marin were among the Latino actors, filmmakers, musicians and artists who attended the major cultural celebration in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The invitation-only event marked the arrival of George Lucas and Mellody Hobson’s long-awaited museum in Exposition Park, just days before its official public opening on September 22. The evening brought together an unusually large group of Hollywood heavyweights, from Leonardo DiCaprio and Oprah Winfrey to Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Kim Kardashian, Michael B. Jordan and Katy Perry.

Guillermo del Toro wasn't simply another famous guest. The Oscar-winning Mexican filmmaker served as one of the event's co-chairs alongside Tom Cruise, Julie Bell, Greta Gerwig, Lewis Hamilton, Jensen Huang, JR, Steven Spielberg and Pharrell Williams.
That placed del Toro in a prominent role during the museum's debut.
