Clara Vegas Goetz is getting closer to the biggest night of her reign, and Miss Venezuela’s preparation for Miss Universe 2026 is becoming increasingly visible.
The Venezuelan beauty queen is now in the final stretch of an intensive preparation process ahead of the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico. Recent appearances have put the spotlight on everything from her evolving image and runway presence to her communication skills and confidence in front of the camera.
Vegas will represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2026, scheduled for November 24 in Puerto Rico. The Miss Venezuela organization confirms that she will carry the Venezuelan sash at the international competition, where the country will pursue another Miss Universe title.
And this is not a transformation that happened overnight.
How Clara Vegas Is Preparing for Miss Universe 2026
Vegas has spent much of her reign preparing for the demands of an international competition. In a recent interview with Telemundo, the model and actress described herself as being in the final phase of her Miss Universe preparation after a year filled with learning and personal development. She also indicated that there are still details she is working to polish before arriving at the competition.
That preparation appears to extend well beyond gowns and beauty.
Her recent media tour in Miami included appearances across several Telemundo programs, including Hoy Día, En Casa con Telemundo, Al Rojo Vivo and La Mesa Caliente. She later returned to Hoy Día as a guest host, giving her another opportunity to practice the kind of live communication and camera work that can be valuable on an international stage.
Telegenic confidence may come naturally to Vegas. She has a background in acting and modeling, and the Miss Venezuela organization says she studied at the University of Southern California and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
Clara Vegas Is Working on Her Miss Universe Stage Presence
Runway preparation is another major part of the process. Recent social media coverage of Vegas has highlighted her developing walk, stage presence and confidence as the November competition approaches. Her preparation has been described as a long-term process built around discipline, consistency and continued improvement.
She has also had a chance to experience the Miss Universe 2026 host venue before competition night.
In May, Vegas modeled at Puerto Rican designer Luis Antonio’s Opulentia fashion show at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, the venue where she is expected to return for Miss Universe. She closed the runway show and appeared alongside her mother, Andreína Goetz.
Clara Vegas Is Following in Her Mother’s Miss Venezuela Footsteps
Vegas is the daughter of Andreína Goetz, who held the Miss Venezuela title in 1990 and went on to compete at Miss Universe.
Clara’s victory created a rare piece of Venezuelan pageant history, making mother and daughter holders of the country’s prestigious national beauty title. Andreína reached the Top 10 at Miss Universe 1990 and ultimately finished seventh.
Clara, born in January 2002, was crowned after competing as Miss Miranda in December 2025. Now, more than three decades after her mother competed on the Miss Universe stage, Vegas is preparing to write her own chapter.
