Salma Hayek is keeping the celebrations going in style. The Mexican actress stepped out in New York City on September 14 for an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, turning heads in a sultry all-black ensemble as she reflected on her milestone 60th birthday and reunited with fans ahead of her latest projects.
Salma leaned into romantic glamour for the daytime appearance, wearing a fitted black lace top with sheer long sleeves and a plunging scalloped neckline.
The delicate fabric continued through the bodice, offering a subtle glimpse of skin while maintaining the sophisticated feel of the monochromatic look.
She paired the top with a coordinating black midi skirt featuring lace detailing and wispy sheer panels along the hem, which added movement as she made her way outside the studio.
A slim black belt with a gold buckle cinched the outfit at the waist and tied in perfectly with the gold hardware on her structured black handbag.
The actress added serious height with glossy black platform Mary Jane heels and completed the ensemble with oversized dark sunglasses and a delicate gold necklace. Her signature dark hair was worn down in glossy, voluminous waves with a center part, while a soft pink lip added a subtle touch of color.
The outfit continued Salma's decidedly dark fashion streak during her time in New York. Just days earlier, she attended the Kering Foundation's Caring for Women Dinner in a dramatic black Balenciaga gown alongside her husband, François-Henri Pinault.
Salma gets candid about turning 60:
Fashion wasn't the only thing on the agenda. During her appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Salma opened up about her recent birthday celebration, revealing that she marked the milestone with a huge party in Rome.
“I had a huge party,” she told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “It was in Rome.” The actress explained that the celebration had initially been planned as a surprise, although keeping something that big under wraps proved difficult.
“I did [find out], it was awful. Like 10 people called me, like ‘I don’t know if I can make it!’ What?!” she joked. Reports from the celebration showed that Salma was surrounded by family and friends in Rome, with longtime friend Angelina Jolie among the famous faces connected to the festivities.
The actress also discussed the Mexican birthday tradition of “la mordida,” which involves taking a bite directly from the birthday cake.
Back with Adam Sandler:
Salma also gave fans a tease of what it's been like reuniting with Adam Sandler and the cast of Grown Ups for the upcoming third installment.
“The whole gang is back! We’re all together again, it’s so much fun,” she said, before revealing how she helped celebrate Sandler's own birthday on September 9. “I brought him mariachi and a piñata.”
The piñata? Appropriately enough, it was shaped like a basketball. Filming for Grown Ups 3 has already brought Salma and Sandler back together in New Jersey.
The costars were recently photographed shooting scenes at Keansburg Amusement Park, where they reprise their roles as married couple Roxanne Chase-Feder and Lenny Feder.
Her busy return to the spotlight comes as she also promotes Without Blood, the Angelina Jolie-directed drama costarring Demián Bichir.
